Speed isn’t an accident. We build stronger, faster, more resilient athletes for speed-and-power sports through clear assessment, structured training, and consistent work.

SPEED · POWER · MOVEMENT
Build better athletes.
Build better people.
The standard
Sport happens at speed. BooM develops the first-step quickness, acceleration, power, movement quality, and durability athletes need to perform when it matters.
Training pathways
From an athlete’s first serious training block to professional camp preparation, the standard stays the same: coach the person, develop the athlete, and earn the result.
Build the movement, speed, and training habits young athletes need before chasing shortcuts.
A structured progression for athletes who need more acceleration, power, strength, and resilience.
Practical in-season and off-season development built around the demands of the team calendar.
Individual programming, clear standards, and consistent accountability—wherever you train.
The BooM method
No random workouts. Every athlete starts with context, assessment, and a plan built for their age, experience, schedule, and goals.
Understand how the athlete moves, where they are now, and what the sport demands.
Develop quality movement and useful strength before piling on unnecessary volume.
Turn strength into first-step quickness, acceleration, and repeatable power.
Train the athlete to express those qualities when pace and pressure are highest.
One room. One standard.
Beginners and professionals are coached with the same attention to detail and respect. The program changes. The standard doesn’t.

Founder · Performance Coach
Meet the coach
Nearly two decades spent helping athletes turn potential into performance.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from St. Francis Xavier University, Boo co-founded Athletes Nation in Edmonton and spent 15 years coaching athletes from youth development through the professional ranks.
He returned home to Nova Scotia in 2020 and built BooM Performance to give rural athletes access to professional-level coaching without having to leave their community.
Boo earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification before advancing to the Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach designation. At the time, he was one of only five RSCC-designated coaches in Canada.
For seven years, Boo was one of only six Nike SPARQ-sponsored strength coaches in Canada.
More than hockey
“BUILD BETTER ATHLETES.
BUILD BETTER PEOPLE.”
Hard work. Accountability. Confidence. Leadership. Athletes leave BooM better prepared for their sport—and better equipped for whatever comes after it.
